Intro

Ekleipsis’, showcasing a custom 2000+ layer Damascus Steel flowing across the blade, with a handle hand-carved to create an otherworldly aura with an array of 24k gold embellishments to mirror that of an ancient relic of history… Adorned with Mother Of Pearl and inspired by the mysteries of our universe; “Ekleipsis” in ancient Greek implies a vanishing or withdrawal; which mirrors how stars end their life cycles, dimming or disappearing from sight. Undergoing a dramatic transformation, sometimes leaving behind a dense remnant (like a neutron star) or collapsing entirely (as with black holes), resulting in the “eclipse” of its former light.

Shining brightly across the deep darkness of the blade, the pieces of the stars stark in 24k gold. With a mix of over a dozen different meteorite specimens from around the world, combining some of the most well-known specimens such as the Muonionalusta, Gibeon, Campo Del Cielo, etc being amongst some of the oldest meteorites ever recorded. Each individual meteorite is forged into the blade as individual circles inside the Damascus Steel, which are then plated in 24k gold to let them stand out over the darkness of the rest of the blade. The largest circle being a blend of all these meteorites from around the world, all forged and combined together into a solidified ingot; with Mother Of Pearl, and 24k gold leafing across the handle.

The envision was to craft a piece that reflects the idea of what life on other planet’s may look like, taking reflection of the otherworldly nature of the materials through fruition of the final piece in an “alien-like” design. Woking with essentially the last remnants of dead planets and stars; the envision was to reflect a sense of "burnt" textures and aged finishes that almost look like ancient fossils. Taking direction from the grotesque nature of ancient organisms in different forms of insects funguses, plant life, aquatic life etc... Nicely weighted and comfortable in the hand, the blade measures a 24-25” blade and 30-31” OAL. The blade holds a nimble and comfortable grip, built for both display and when a hardened, and sharpe heirloom cutting tool is needed.

The Meteorite

The blade is crafted with over a dozen meteorites including the 4.5 billion year-old meteor, the Muonionalusta, discovered in 1906 near the border of Sweden and Finland by a group of children who found what they described as an unusual rock… Later it was studied to have traveled through the solar system for over 4.56 billion years before striking Earth nearly one million years ago. It was found to be one of the oldest meteorites ever recorded, with a crystalline structure consisting of iron and nickel formed over millions of years. Not only is this specimen featured, much notable falls like the Gibeon, St. Aubin, Campo Del Cielo, Canyon Diablo, etc. are also present.

Included is a signed Certificate Of Authenticity (COA) and custom-forged stand for displaying of the piece.
